Interfacing (DSI, CSI, I2C, etc.) • Re: Software PWM - What is reasonable Max frequency you can expect on a Zero 2 W?

Because there are only 2-channels, I need 4. You can't even run a RBG led on 2. The hardware PWM is fine, I wrote a library for that, no questions or complaints. It's trying to get the most I can out of software PWM that is the goal here. I usually use Pico for these projects, but after getting a Zero 2 W, I've been trying to incorporate that to take advantage of the easy wireless.

It's really just to see what I can get it to do and whether I can make it run fast enough to make it work. I've seen some posts claiming 4MHz, and I recall that being software PWM, but I don't see how the heck that would work, so my question is whether I've missed the mark in trying to use the interval timer approach and there is some magic much better approach to take... Or, whether this is about what I should expect? I don't see how you get more software PWM out of the device beyond a dedicated core.

What say the Pi wizards?
