What operating system and how are you creating the image?
IIRC the Pi imaging program only sets up SSH and WiFi for the official Raspberry Pi Operating System - others such as Ubuntu need ssh installing and WiFi enabling from the command line.
Passwords can be tricky if you are not using a UK / US keyboard - be default Linux does not show the characters you type in passwords but they are being entered.
Some Logitech kit needed its own software on the machine before it will work - does Logitech provide anything for the set you have? You may need to pair the dongle with the mouse / keyboard using a Mac or Windows PC first then it would work on any computer - this type of dongle used to have an orange star '*' on it denoting the 'unifying' connector. The control software can be downloaded from https://support.logi.com/hc/en-us/artic ... g-Software (looks like the Mac version has gone).
